A Saudi brand has, for the first time, earned a place at Salone del Mobile.Milano. ZAZA MAIZON will present its work within Salone Raritas, the fair’s most exclusive section for limited editions, rare craftsmanship, and collectible design. This debut marks Saudi Arabia’s arrival on the world’s most influential stage for contemporary design, not as a visitor, but as a participant shaping the conversation.

At ZAZA MAIZON, our participation in Salone del Mobile.Milano, and in Salone Raritas in particular, is not simply about being present at an international exhibition. It is about ensuring that Saudi Arabia has a place within one of the world’s most influential platforms, where the value of contemporary design is shaped and recognized at the highest level. This is not a space that celebrates the ordinary; it is a platform devoted to rare pieces, limited editions, exceptional craftsmanship, and the cultural meaning that gives each work its true significance.

The importance of this participation lies in the fact that it presents a Saudi proposition that sees design and art as an extension of a confident local identity, while remaining fully capable of speaking to the world through an international standard of excellence. Its significance is further amplified by the fact that it comes within the 64th edition of the fair, and within a highly selective and high-value curatorial context, making this Saudi presence one that reflects the scale of the Kingdom’s ambitions.

We do not regard this participation as an achievement for the brand alone. We see it as part of a broader social and cultural responsibility: to be present at Milan Design Week in order to elevate the Saudi urban and cultural scene, reinforce the value of Saudi art, and present Saudi collectible pieces as works defined by quality, identity, and cultural depth, capable of standing competitively on the global stage.

Through this step, we aspire, even in part, to contribute to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly those related to strengthening national identity, supporting culture and the arts, enhancing quality of life, and expanding Saudi presence within the international cultural and creative economy.

Abdulaziz Khalid Al Tayyash, Saudi Designer and architects. owner and design principal of ZAZA Maizon.
