Bridging Saudi identity with a global design language.

Beyond Architecture

Saudi art and culture emerge from a landscape of deserts, coasts, oases, and trade routes, where daily life shaped distinct regional identities. Architecture developed from available materials such as mud , stone, coral, and palm, forming Najdi courtyards, Hijazi rawasheen, and southern stone villages. Craft traditions grew from necessity and skill while Poetry, oral storytelling, and calligraphy carried history and values long before formal documentation, while gatherings around markets, mosques, and seasonal events became spaces of cultural exchange.

As the Kingdom modernized, the need to protect and present these traditions became increasingly important. Efforts to document crafts, architecture, and regional customs transformed living practices into a shared cultural record. Among the earliest and most significant of these efforts is the Al Janadriyah Festival, which stands as one of the oldest platforms dedicated to representing, preserving, and celebrating Saudi heritage.
